September Debt Payoff Frustrations

Ugh!!!! Interest on our debt is killing us. We have 11 debts in total and 7 of them are accruing interest from 2.5% to 10%. In September we paid $1,536.42 to our debt in total and only went down by $799.94!! However, there was more added to our collection. Our hospital is awful at turning bills to collections. I had talked to them and was making small payments. But still a bill for $219.79 was added to my husband’s collection debt. I think because he did not talk to them personally is reason it was sent to collections. I try my best to not have to go the hospital because their billing department is a pain to deal with but emergency room visits happen sometimes. We put $350 to my husband’s collection debt and it only went down by $43.62 with new bill added to the debt. My husband needs to call them before the other bill from emergency room visits goes to collections. It is all just frustrating and makes it dishearten to see debt go down so slowly. I know with the amount of debt we have its going to be disabled turtle pace with plenty of stumbles but still UGH! We still keep making as much debt payments as possible but this is going to be a long game.
